GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
The Policy and Advocacy Coordinator will be a part of IRCO’s Community Development Department and will assist IRCO’s Executive Leadership in building support and reform through various vehicles, from stakeholder groups to coalition partners and policymakers in the State of Oregon. The position will work closely with key Executive Leadership to design and guide IRCO’s policy and advocacy work as a 501c3 organization. They will work closely with staff in IRCO’s Civic Engagement and Advocacy programs to support and amplify IRCO’s community organizing and advocacy work to affect policy and systems change. In doing so, they will advance IRCO’s strategic policy and advocacy goals including active leadership and participation in coalition-based initiatives requiring coordination with and between multiple external and internal entities (like the current Preschool for All 2021 Initiative and Regional Health & Education Impact Partnership).
