Girl Scouts of Oregon and Southwest Washington (GSOSW) is seeking an optimistic and goal-oriented self-starter for a Membership Engagement Specialist (ME) role in Portland. Successful candidates will have the skills and confidence to engage with new audiences and communities and invite their participation in Girl Scouting.
The ME is part of an outside sales team responsible for the tactical delivery of girl and adult membership growth. MEs work in a defined geographic area, often in concert with local volunteers, to elevate the Girl Scout brand and introduce Girl Scouts to new communities and families. This role requires independent work, the ability to take initiative, and making independent judgements. While the work is typically strategic and planned, MEs must readily pivot to identify and make the most of ad hoc opportunities. Depending on the time of year, 50% to 75% of a MEs work is conducted away from the office, working with volunteers and organizations in the communities they serve. MEs also must be adept at fostering internal relationships, including collaboration within the membership team and with other departments.
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
This is a regular full-time, non-exempt position offering $18.09/hour. Compensation includes a generous benefits package with health insurance, life insurance, LTD, STD, retirement plan, PTO, and paid holidays. See more details on our website.
