Multnomah County is seeking applicants as our Facilities Safety and Training Compliance Coordinator (Facilities Specialist 2) in Facilities and Property Management (FPM). In this role, you will use your strong OSHA training knowledge of building operations and fire, life, and safety regulatory compliance programs to support a safe and healthy work environment in all County buildings. You will provide coordination, continual oversight and technical guidance of building related tests and inspections, which are required at various schedules in order to comply with Federal, State, County, and Local regulatory agencies. Your professional communication and ability to build, promote and maintain effective professional working relationships will be crucial to your success.
Your core responsibilities will include:
Coordinating, scheduling and monitoring of mandated FPM programs related to OSHA safety training compliance programs regulations set by local, state, and/or federal laws.
Provide building regulatory inspections in all FPM owned areas quarterly.
Train other FPM staff on OSHA required topics not including FPM online safety training programs.
Computer management online training system implementation and administration for all FPM staff.
Provide support for testing and inspection coordination management for other FPM speciality compliance areas including but not limited to Fire program support, emergency prepared program support, eyewash station installation and maintenance, boilers and pressure vessel permitting and compliance, first-aid kit maintenance, FPM Building Improvement Group (BIG) safety plan review and insurance carrier inspections as requested.
Serve as a technical SME resource to FPM staff regarding fire/life/safety.
Ensure oversight of contracts and vendors relating to FPM maintenance and regulatory safety program training compliance.
Provide guidance and development of any needed FPM Safety or Risk policies.
Serve on and help administer the FPM safety committee monthly meetings including incident review and recommendations.
Provide Confined space program improvements and administration.
Ability to learn and or work with all essential computer systems to perform position duties and tasks.
About Us: The Facilities and Property Management Division (FPM) manages over 3.1 million square feet (within 133 buildings) of owned and leased building space necessary for the efficient, safe and effective delivery of programs and services to the residents of Multnomah County. The quality of these services directly affect the functions that are performed by nearly 6,000 County employees serving the general public and partner Agencies co-located within the County’s real estate portfolio.

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills:
An Associate degree or equivalent practical experience
Four (4) years experience of increasingly responsible facilities safety training programs, building data systems management, project management, construction safety officer or directly related experience.
Possession of an appropriate and valid driver’s license; and
Ability to pass a records background check
Preferred Qualifications/Transferable Skills: You do not need to have the following preferred qualifications/transferable skills to qualify. However, keep in mind we may consider some or all of the following when identifying the most qualified candidates. Proficiency in Google Suite of applications, & Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge of laws, legal codes, government regulations, compliance requirements, and executive orders related to building safety
Knowledge of building trades, facilities site inspections, fire, life, and safety codes and building code compliance.
Knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations
OSHA training certification
Project management certification

Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm. There is some flexibility with the start and end times and a possibility of a 9/80 schedule.
